Ice Painting

E-mail Print

Isbaneteknikkk AS has long experience in ice-making, painting and marking – including painting of advertising or laying down advertisement printed on cotton or paper cloth. We also regularly perform training of rink-crews to perform these tasks themselves. We have done such courses in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Russia and China.

Below are some photos showing ”over paint” of existing ice advertising in Oslo, Norway (February 2009). After the over paint with white JetIce new markings and NEW advertising was put OVER the existing advertising. This was due to an Olympic qualification tournament that was held in the arena, the tournament had other sponsors than the regular sponsors for the arena. After the tournament the ice was CUT DOWN with the ice resurfacer until the original advertising and markings REAPPEARED unhurt.

This job was done on the order of the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation (NIHF). The photo-series show some of the main operations, not all. It may be noted that two coats of paint was applied (some places three). Each coat or layer of paint was individually sealed, i.e. over sprayed with clear water before the next layer of paint. All line markings are also sealed shortly after painting or taping before building additional ice on the rink.
